About Jo Hope

Jo Hope has taken the unskilled and given them skills, taken those who had nothing and given them pride. Our vision for the future is to grow this business and this brand so that we may offer skills training and development on a much larger scale, creating new lives for those who need it most.

Jo Hope has been going since 2003, teaching unskilled and unemployed women from the community to sew, bead, over lock and many other skills that are needed in the production of the Jo Hope products. The range includes personalised picnic blankets, baskets as well as the kiddies shwe shwe clothing range. We currently have a small home-based factory but the plan for the future is to set up a larger factory and assist more disadvantaged unskilled and unemployed ladies and give them a chance at a better future. We would like to create a sustainable apprentice working environment to teach these ladies sewing, selling and business skills.

In June 2016 Jo Hope launched a new product line called Woodin It Be Nice. This range of wooden items are made specifically for our Sister Company Silver Ribbon Gifts. The range has been very successful and we would like to start up an apprenticeship program for young carpenters in South Africa. The program would involve taking young South African men and allowing them to earn a salary at the same time as improving their Carpentry skills.

The Jo Hope Team

Joanne Lamb is the visionary and innovator behind the Jo Hope range. She has taught, trained and coached unskilled and unemployed ladies since 2003 and is looking to expand this upliftment to a wider base, creating a programme of apprenticeship, upskilling the unskilled and giving them opportunities that would previously not be possible. Instilling pride in our employees and in the entire Jo Hope range.
